Park Tool
Park Tool was
developed in 1956 by two
friends, Art Engstrom and
Howard Hawkins, who had a bike
shop in the United States. The
first tool was created in the
back of their shop from the
need of something holding a
bike to
stop turning the bicycles
upside down for repairing them .

From the idea to the
company
The bike stand worked, what
motivated them to build
further special tools like
wheel truing stands etc. to
meet the needs of the
mechanics. In 1981 they sold
the bike shop and concentrated
on building tools only. By now
the company has over 50
employees. High quality
standards and the aim to
produce long-lasting and
perfect working tools to
enthuse the customer is the
fundament of the philosophy of
Park Tool .
